Singapore which is officially known as the Republic of Singapore is a sovereign island city-state in Southeast Asia. Based on its influence on global economy it is classified as an Alpha+ global city and it is the only country in Asia with an “AAA” sovereign rating from all major rating agencies and one among 11 worldwide. Singapore is a highly developed country and is ranked 9th on the UN Human Development Index with the 7th highest GDP per capita in the world
Singapore is of 63 islands, of them the popular is, Pulau Ujong. It has two-man-made connections to Johor, Malaysia, the Woodlands first Link in the north and the Tuas Second link in the west. Bukit Timah Hill at 163.63 m (537 ft) is the highest natural point. Christmas Island and the Cocos Islands were part of Singapore during British rule and later they are occupied by Australia in 1957.
English, Malay, Mandarin Chinese, and Tamil are the official languages and most of the Singaporeans are bilingual, with English serving as the nation's bridge language and Malay is the national language

It has a tropical rainforest climate with no distinctive seasons, uniform temperature and pressure, high humidity and abundant rainfall. Temperature does not vary greatly and usually range from 25 to 35 °C (77 to 95 °F). Singapore follows the GMT+8 time zone
